Tissot Interactive Display at Harrods

It is no secret that stores use window displays to draw their customers inside, but Harrods on its Brompton Road side, is taking it a step farther due to a new partnership with Tissot the Swiss watchmaker. This is due to the fact that the centre of the venture is a touchscreen interactive mirror that allows you to virtually ‘try-on’ watches without ever stepping foot in the store or even near an actual Tissot watch.

The principle behind the technology is simple: slip on plastic a black strap that is embedded with technology, and then hold it up the window mirror. In just seconds after choosing a model from the Ladies or T-Touch men’s collection you will see the watch actually sitting on your wrist in the reflection. The screen is so lifelike that you will also see yourself and all the traffic in the background exactly right behind you as it is, and when you move your wrist the watch moves with it.

While this alone would be cool enough, the interactive screen also allows you to touch the watch and play with all of the gadgets, switches, and other cool perks that are built into a Tissot watch so that you get a very authentic experience. Plus, you do not even have to step into the store to try out the new advertising feature although you may have to wait in line given that everyone wants a shot to try it out. Hurry by however if you want to be next in line because the interactive window is only going to be on display until April 24th and only on weekends between noon and 6pm.
